Information about delivery date and new features in RS 2005?

Hey guys,
does anybody know where I can find info about the planned release date for
RS 2005 and what new features it will have? We're currently building an app
that will have to grow over the next two years or so and I'd like to take
future features into consideration (possible switch-over, less things to
build ourselves right now).

One of the problems we're facing right now is that Reporting Services
doesn't support radar charts (spider charts). But management/customer does
not want to give up their gadget. Does anybody know whether RS 2005 will
support that chart type?
If RS 2005 shouldn't support that chart type we'll have to look into (yet
unreleased) 3rd party components like Dundas chart or write a rendering
extension from scratch (which of course we'd like to avoid).

Is there any way we can use to find the time when the last change happened
to the file or filegroup?

There is nothing built in to SQL Server that tracks changes to files, but
you can build, or buy, a solution that might fit your needs. What
specifically are you wanting to track?

last backed up the file, if it's not, I don't need to recover it if there is
a problem with database. Instead, I will recover other file(s) or
filegroup(s).

Date entered|Date left
and i need to calculate the difference in days between the two fields to
look like this
Date entered|Date left|Total days taken
I am trying to use the datediff command like
=datediff(d,Fields!dateentered.value,Fields!date_left.value)
But this isnt working. Anyone have any ideas how i can do this?No matter i found that doing the datediff in the select statment rather than
in an expression works.

inesert null value

Hi All,

I am using c# (asp.net 2.0) and sql 2005.

I need to check whether the checkbox is checked then insert the current date or insert a empty/null values.

I used this condition chkTFR.Checked ?DateTime.Now :SqlDateTime.Null.Value or chkTFR.Checked ?DateTime.Now :System.DBNull.Value

In the database table I create a field with datetime type. I am not able to insert a null value to the field. If anybody had an experience pls post your code.

I am using strongly typed dataset & tableadapter to insert the values to the database table. (for your reference C this link:http://www.asp.net/learn/data-access/tutorial-01-cs.aspx)

I got this error message when I press the submit button.

Data is Null. This method or property cannot be called on Null values.

Remember I am using the strongly Typed DataSet & TableAdapter method.

I guess you are using tableadpter database direct methods to insert data (like, tableadapter.Insert(your insert value)).

You can try to use "null" instread ofSqlDateTime.Null.Value /DBNull.value in your Insert() method. I've tested in my side and it works fine.

indexes out of date

What does it mean when they say indexes are out of date wrt the query
optmiser ? How do you keep them to date ? Kinda confusedSee Distribution Statistics in bol.
The statistics may be out of date so that the optimiser
does not have correct data on the data distribution of
data to select a plan.
Also indexes may get fragmented and need rebuilding.
