Depending on the nature of your data, you might consider denormalizing it and splitting it up between 2 tables so that you are no longer performing a self-join. If you see enough of a performance boost with the indexed query it *might* be worth the trouble. You'd really have to do some analysis to see if it's the right choice for you.

indexed views can not have self-join !
is there any work around this?No, neither SQL Server 2000 nor SQL Server 2005 support self-joins in indexed views.
